About Leanora

“Leanora captures nature in an unique fashion, introducing the abstract into most of her creations, sometimes stating the obvious and at the same time something entirely different.”

Leanora Jones-Parry was born in Great Manchester, UK in 1977. Her early years were spent between Yorkshire and North Wales, She then went on to study in Lancaster gaining a degree in fine art majoring in painting and printmaking.

Following graduation, her final exhibit paintings went on display and received lots of interest, all being purchased within a week. Since then she has gone on to display her work in numerous exhibitions within North Wales and the French Alps.

Leanora has been living in the 3 valleys in the French Alps for the last 15 years. During this time she has taken a few years away from painting to raise her 2 children and concentrate on her family. Due to her surroundings she was drawn back into painting after this short interlude.

Her subjects tend to be inspired by the beautiful nature around her. Mountains and trees have had a major influence in her current and ongoing work.

More recently Leanora wanted a complete opposite from her high undulating mountains, to which she found the seascapes of the Indian ocean. This gave the opportunity to show the diversity in her work and allow her to experiment with a completely different hue of colour. The 2 subjects mountain and sea are completely contrasting, hence appealing to a more all round clientele.
